Genesis Engineering Solutions (GES), a privately owned company, opened its doors in Lanham, Maryland outside the gates of the Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) in December of 1993. From its inception, GES' remaining founder Robert Rashford wanted to build a company that would pursue passions, exercise talents, and create high-tech engineering solutions, a new beginning, hence the name Genesis. Rashford has over 30 years of engineering experience and more importantly a desire to work hard, a passion to do what is right, and an ability to instill these values in all who would join the company in the years ahead.
When NASA asked the question, "How do you get components as brittle as an egg, as sensitive to sound as fine crystal, and as temperamental to vibration as a house of cards, shot out of a cannon and have it arrive in one piece," they came to Genesis.
From the beginning, Genesis has provided advanced engineering products and services to some of the nation's most exciting space programs, including the Hubble Space Telescope (HST). GES has designed and built Protective Enclosures (PE) to protect and carry mission critical hardware to orbit. Enclosures offer a smooth ride to orbit, provide environmentally controlled conditions, and when required provide health and status monitoring of the "egg."
GES has become The World's Leader in designing, building, testing and providing operational support for these protective enclosures. Our PE product line is synonymous with safe, cost efficient and successful delivery to orbit. Since 1993 GES has successfully delivered over 150 mission critical hardware items to orbit - hardware valued in the hundreds of millions of dollars.
In 1997 GES established a new product area, technology innovation engineering and research. GES's technology efforts are directed at improving safety, reducing costs, enhancing performance, and making our environment a better place to live.
In 2011, Genesis expanded its facilities by opening a new facility at 4501 Boston Way in Lanham, MD. This provided more office space, integration areas, and a cleanroom (10k).
Today as yesterday, GES continues to offer our customers the same great service, the same great value and the same commitment to excellence.
